RealServer8について

RealServerには、有償のRealServer Plusと無償のRealServer Basicがありますが、ここではRealServer Basicについて紹介します。RealServer Basicは、同時配信ストリーム数が最大25ストリームとの制限がありますが、個人で実験レベルで使うには十分です。
RealServer BasicのFreeBSDプラットフォームの最新版は、RealServer Basic8 (英語バージョンのみ）です。(2001年8月12時点)

RealServer Basicのダウンロード

まず、Download a free evaluation or Basic RealSystem Serverのページからダウンロードします。「Free RealSystem Server Basic 8.0」を選択し、入力フォームに名前(First Name,Last Name)、メールアドレス(E-mail)等を入力します。「Operating System」欄は、以下を選択します。

最後に「Next Page」をクリックすると、ダウンロードサーバ選択画面になるので、適当なサイトをクリックすれば、ダウンロードが開始されます。ここでは、/tmpディレクトリにダウンロードするものとします。ファイルは自己解凍型のbin形式です。

ライセンスファイルについて

別に先ほど入力したメールアドレス宛に、ライセンスファイルがメールにて通知されますので、インストール時に使用します。

上記のメールによると、RealServer Basicのライセンスの内容は、以下の様になっています。
